Isaiah 26:3-4: Kept in Perfect Peace When Our Minds Stay on God

Hey friend, anxiety has a way of pulling our thoughts in a thousand different directions. One moment we’re steady, the next we’re spiraling down a rabbit trail of worry. But God gives us a clear promise: peace comes when our minds are fixed on Him.
Isaiah 26:3-4
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength.
Isaiah 26:3-4
Perfect peace. Not temporary distraction, not fleeting calm—perfect peace. And it’s not something we manufacture on our own. God Himself keeps us in that peace when we choose to stay our minds on Him.
Think of your thoughts like a river. When the waters are directed, they flow steadily and bring life. But when they’re scattered in every direction, they flood, overwhelm, and destroy. Anxiety scatters our thoughts, but trust in God anchors and directs them. Staying our minds on Him is like building strong riverbanks around the flood of worry.
One way we can practically “stay our minds” on God is by surrounding ourselves with Scripture. Having His Word before our eyes—on our walls, our desks, or even in our pockets—gives us something to refocus on when anxiety tries to steal our calm. That’s exactly why I created the Bible Verse Cards for Anxiety: to keep truth close at hand, so peace is always within reach.
Friend, Isaiah’s reminder is this: peace doesn’t come from controlling every outcome. Peace comes from trusting the One who holds every outcome. Keep your mind stayed on Him, and He will keep you in perfect peace.
Much love in Christ,
Kelly
