Reflections
About God
The Lord counts even small lies an abomination – something utterly disgusting. Any sin (lying is one, but there are of course many others) separates us totally from our holy God. But when we deal truthfully, faithfully…steadily standing in and grounded in truth (wink!), God can delight in us.
About Self
When I sin with my mouth, whether intentionally or unintentionally, it is not a “little thing” to God. God finds all of our (my!) sin completely disgusting, an abomination.
Questions to Ask Myself
- Am I watching what comes out of my mouth for truthfulness?
- Am I being steadfast and faithful in my words and actions? And most of all, truthful?
