Reflections
About God
God will not entice us to sin (James 1:13 says “Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:”). He does give us the power to resist that temptation (1 Corinthians 10:13: “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”)
About Self
It is my responsibility to surround myself with people who are following God and to distance myself from those who are asking me to go against God’s will in my life. He will help me do so, if I rely on him.
Questions to Ask Myself
- Who am I allowing to influence my life? Are they godly influences, or is there someone I need to distance myself from?
- Is there a person or situation that I need to say no to in order to stay away from a particular sin?
